PNC stricter on SBA loans

PNC Bank has "slightly" tightened its lending criteria for customers seeking U.S. Small Business Administration loans due to concerns about the economy, a bank representative said.

"We are looking for maybe a higher credit score and more liquidity," Michele Vervlied, PNC’s SBA sales team leader, said in an interview Wednesday at the annual SBA awards presentation in Newark.

MLFI-25 Data Show New Business Volume Flat in October WASHINGTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The Equipment Leasing and Finance Associations 1/ (ELFA) Monthly Leasing and Finance Index (MLFI-25), which reports equipment finance activity showed that overall new business volume for October was virtually flat (0.10%) when compared to October 2006. However, according to year-to-date cumulative totals, new business volume for January to October 2007 was 6.5 percent higher when compared with the same period in 2006.

Australia’s Macquarie Group buys US-based CIT Systems Leasing assets

SYDNEY (Thomson Financial) - Australia’s leading investment bank, Macquarie Group Ltd, said Wednesday it has agreed to buy the business and assets of US-based CIT Systems Leasing.

Headquartered in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, CIT Systems Leasing is one of the largest independent lessors of technological and capital equipment in North America, with customers throughout the US and Canada and approximately 700 million US dollars of assets, Macquarie Group said.

"When merged with Macquarie’s existing equipment leasing businesses in Europe, Canada and the Asia-Pacific, the new combined company will offer customers flexible, global technology equipment financing solutions for their business needs," Macquarie Group said.

Macquarie to acquire CIT Systems Leasing

Macquarie Group Ltd has agreed to purchase the business and assets of one of North America’s largest lessors of equipment, CIT Systems Leasing.

CIT Systems Leasing, headquartered in Michigan, has around $US700 million ($A785.77 million) of assets.

Macquarie Technology leasing business global head, Andrew Gee said CIT Systems Leasing provided similar expertise and services in North America to those offered by the company’s existing technology financing business in Europe, Canada and Asia-Pacific.
